South Island Aquarium Company Profile

To say South Island Aquarium produces and delivers high-quality aquatic plants and ornamental fishes is very true.

That’s the essence of what we do – but it hardly tells the whole story.

Founded in 1969 by the late Mr. Lim Kim Kiat, South Island Aquarium is a privately held, family-owned company headquartered in Singapore with offices in Malaysia.

Today, South Island Aquarium is a world class cultivator of aquatic plants producing hundreds of aquatic plant species and a global exporter of ornamental fishes. With more than 48 years of experience and extensive knowledge in ornamental aquatics, we are able to consult and add value to our clients worldwide.

Vision

Mission

To supply the highest quality aquatic plants and ornamental fish at the most competitive prices.

Our Aquatic Plants

It’s our goal for all our aquatic plants to be grown under the highest standards of quality. There are 2 plant production facilities on 16 acres of land located in Malaysia, and the main packing facility is located in Singapore. With more than 48 years of experience, we have developed a proprietary packaging system to ensure that our aquatic plants are shipped and received in its best conditions.

Our Ornamental Fishes

Re-shipment preparation and packing of ornamental fish are located at our Singapore facility. These include quarantine, quality assurance, phyto-sanitary certification and fish health certification. In collaboration with the transport companies we use, we have established an efficient distribution system which is vital when dealing with livestock. Our proprietary packaging system protects our ornamental fishes from extreme temperature variations and physical impact during transportation.
